Monster Anatomy - Knee is the free version of Monster Anatomy - Lower limb, an interactive lower limb radiology atlas presented at the 2009 Radiological Society of North America annual meeting.
It only contains knee images.
The application was developed in the Medical Imaging Department of the University Hospital Center of Nancy, France, under the supervision of Professor Alain Blum.

This application is designed for healthcare professionals (Radiologists, General Practitioners, Orthopedists, Surgeons, Physiotherapists among others) as well for students, as a reference and learning tool. It contains 82 contiguous knee MR slices (4-5 mm thickness) in the three anatomical planes.

Features:

- Intuitive navigation with multiple shortcuts.
- Fluid display of images in the three anatomical planes.
- 3D Image volume (VR) allows precise location of slice position.
- Labels in accordance with the “Terminologia Anatomica" and current literature references.
- The five different display modes available (bones, joints, muscles, blood vessels and nerves) facilitates label visualization.
- High image quality with a zooming tool.

Once the application is installed no network connection is necessary.

Pros and cons of Monster Anatomy Lite - Knee app for iPhone and iPad

Monster Anatomy Lite - Knee app good for

It is worth to buy. I used free Version, it is just perfect as radiolojist and also other doctors. But I prefer it contains all of body not just extremeties. I am waiting full body Vergion.
Very nice MR images and a complete reference for students, residents or seniors. I think it may be useful for surgeons too.
The quality of the images are actually high enough to be useful to a medical practionner, which is a rarity among the anatomy apps. This app has excellent MRI slices of the knee that I find worthy of my time as a Radiology resident.
At first I thought the MRI cross section was missing from the app, but you need to make sure you select "Knee" to see the MRI. I would imagine that the poor ratings for this app are ones where they did not select the knee and thought the app did not function properly. It works really well. by moving the cross section superiorly & inferiorly while viewing the MRI, you can get a good idea of where the different strictures are in the knee as well as being introduced to reading MRIs. This would be a great app for MD, DO, PA, NP, or other students taking anatomy. One thing that I would like to see in this application would be a quiz feature. I am currently a PA student.

Some bad moments

All I get is a blank screen. I restarted my device and cleared everything from the memory. I have an iPod Touch with the latest ios6 (v.7 isnt made for this device). Fail!!
HORRIBLE RIPP OFF! IT DOESNT EVEN SHOW IT IS JUST A BLACK SCREEN!
